Lazy? Days of Summer

...for the dog, maybe.

School just ended a week ago and it seems like it has been a month already.

We have been blessed with great summer weather thus far. And, thankfully, we have been spending a good bit of time at various swimming pools of some very kind and generous friends. When not in a real pool, we like to set up our own little water park in our back yard. =)

Our mornings are busy with Summer Enrichment classes, therapies, trips to the library and the park. I have my helper back this summer (the 12-yr. old daughter of one of Paige's teachers). She comes for about 2 hours each Thursday to watch the kids while I try to put the house back in order before Jonathan gets home on Thursday nights =)

Speaking of Jonathan, this week he is away on a missions trip with the Jr. High youth group from our church. God Bless the man who gives up his vacation time to spend with a bunch of Jr. High kids! But, he took my camera and I have missed on some very blog-worthy video and photo ops!

And, what would life be without a trip to the doctor, or two?

Charlie got the all clear from his surgeon to resume all unrestricted activity with no follow-up required (woohoo!).

Anna, however, was not so lucky. We went to the ENT a couple weeks ago. She has some fluid in her ears which is affecting her hearing (she can hear, but likely sounds like she is under water). Because we don't know how long the fluid has been there, we have to go back in mid-July to check again. I fear that tubes may be in her future. - Ech!

And, last Friday we went back to the Pediatric Ophthalmologist to check her tear ducts...again. We have had them probed twice already (last June, and last December), but her right eye is still an icky-sticky watery mess. Doc is recommending a balloon catheter dialation procedure. - Double Ech!

On a more positive note...Anna is starting to do a few new things. She is starting to get a lot stronger and more sturdy when she is standing. She is not leaning on the edge of the couch with her torso anymore (or at least, as much) and she is starting to pull to stand on more difficult objects (ones w/o good handles, etc.) She has also started bear crawling around a little. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but it is something new.

More swim lessons, VBS, BBQ's, theme parks, and trips to the beach are planned. It is going to be September before we know it!

At Last...

...It was about a year ago that we had our Littlest Heroes photo shoot. And now she is finally featured as one of the heroes on their website =)

Click Here to check her out! (have to scroll down a bit).

If you are on Facebook, you can also become a fan of Inspiration Through Art...they have Anna's picture as their current profile picture =)

Happy Summertime!

Happy First Day of Summer!!

Charlie is officially a 1st grader now, as today is his last day of Kindergarten. =)

First Day of School

Last Day of School (my how he has grown!!)

We have started off the summer with swimming lessons for Charlie and Paige. They are doing really well and trying very hard. Now I just need to get them to the pool for some practice!

Anna is dying to get in on the fun!

And, yesterday, we celebrated Father's Day with some friends. We went for a hike and then playtime in the waterfalls (which were very refreshing on a hot day!).

Hooray for Summer!!

Dirty Girl!

Playing in the clean grass is not an option for Anna. But, she has oh, so much fun!

At least she will have a lot of fun at the beach this summer =)

Let the Summer Begin!

Paige's last day of school was Thursday. (Charlie still has another week).

She and her classmates celebrated with a picnic in the park.

And then, on Friday, we went to a local farm for a Strawberry Shortcake Party. They did a little craft, read a story, picked strawberries and ate strawberry shortcake!

Ahhh...the fun of summer begins!

More Tee Ball

Charlie had his first t-ball "game" last Saturday. A couple of the teams decided to take a break from the normal routine of practice and clinic, and decided to have a little scrimmage so the kids could feel like they were playing a real game.

Here are a few pics and videos...you will notice that Charlie has his fingers in his mouth. That would be because he has his first loose tooth. Expect a post anyday about a new hole in his mouth. =)

The first inning they hit off the tee.

The second inning, the coach pitched to them.

It was a close game. I think the team with the most players won =)

Miscommunication

What I said was, "After I unload the dishwasher, we will go upstairs and I will give you a bath."

Perhaps we do need to have her hearing checked after all. =)

Catch of the Day

We enjoyed some fishing at a friend's pond this past weekend. The fish were biting, and the kids had a great time reeling them in!

And, here is Anna enjoying her kind of fish...Goldfish!
