...for the dog, maybe.
School just ended a week ago and it seems like it has been a month already.
We have been blessed with great summer weather thus far. And, thankfully, we have been spending a good bit of time at various swimming pools of some very kind and generous friends. When not in a real pool, we like to set up our own little water park in our back yard. =)
Our mornings are busy with Summer Enrichment classes, therapies, trips to the library and the park. I have my helper back this summer (the 12-yr. old daughter of one of Paige's teachers). She comes for about 2 hours each Thursday to watch the kids while I try to put the house back in order before Jonathan gets home on Thursday nights =)
Speaking of Jonathan, this week he is away on a missions trip with the Jr. High youth group from our church. God Bless the man who gives up his vacation time to spend with a bunch of Jr. High kids! But, he took my camera and I have missed on some very blog-worthy video and photo ops!
And, what would life be without a trip to the doctor, or two?
Charlie got the all clear from his surgeon to resume all unrestricted activity with no follow-up required (woohoo!).
Anna, however, was not so lucky. We went to the ENT a couple weeks ago. She has some fluid in her ears which is affecting her hearing (she can hear, but likely sounds like she is under water). Because we don't know how long the fluid has been there, we have to go back in mid-July to check again. I fear that tubes may be in her future. - Ech!
And, last Friday we went back to the Pediatric Ophthalmologist to check her tear ducts...again. We have had them probed twice already (last June, and last December), but her right eye is still an icky-sticky watery mess. Doc is recommending a balloon catheter dialation procedure. - Double Ech!
On a more positive note...Anna is starting to do a few new things. She is starting to get a lot stronger and more sturdy when she is standing. She is not leaning on the edge of the couch with her torso anymore (or at least, as much) and she is starting to pull to stand on more difficult objects (ones w/o good handles, etc.) She has also started bear crawling around a little. I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but it is something new.
More swim lessons, VBS, BBQ's, theme parks, and trips to the beach are planned. It is going to be September before we know it!
